Including Daily, Bi-Monthly and Monthly regimen to keep my body in tip-top shape for Massage work and an active lifestyle. Incorporating a few of these will help improve your overall wellness!
Daily
- Stretching ~ You Guessed It! I Go Through at Least 3 Dynamic or Static Stretches.
Adding length to the connective tissue helps heal and re-store! If we are constantly putting our muscle under stress and strain the only way to counteract that is by stretching. Focus on the area you would like to have more length and stretch it out!
- Meditation ~ I Spend About 5 – 10 Minutes In Stillness or Meditation
Luckily, I end up spending more than that a day during my massage sessions. Most of the time during those massage sessions I am able to be in a ‘mindless’ state where I am just doing and not thinking. There are times when I need the stillness as well, in which case I will do a seated medication in a quiet part of my home.

- Core Strengthening Exercises or Yoga ~ Spend 10 Minutes Running Through a Few Core Exercises or a Quick Yoga Flow
Massage is very taxing on the body and keeping up with my core strength helps in both my stamina during massage sessions and outside of my work.
- Dry Brushing ~ A Few Minutes Dry Brushing my Body Before Showering
Starting at my feet and all the way to my fingers, taking small brushing motions up towards the heart with light to medium pressure. This helps stimulate the skin and slough off unwanted dead cells.

- Orthotics ~ Laying on a Neck & Low Back Orthotic to Lengthen Spinal Ligaments for 5 – 10 Minutes Each
Using a rolled up towel under my low back and neck (one at a time), laying down and keeping knees bent allows the ligaments in-between the vertebrae to lengthen and bring in new healing red blood cells.
- Grounding ~ A Full Dose of Negative Ion Charge from Laying on My Earthing Mat Nightly or Connecting Barefoot on The Earth (Weather Permitting)
There are so many benefits connecting with the ground! Our bodies are electrically charged and negative ions are needed to counteract the free radicals in our cells. Reducing overall inflammation within every cells and system all over the body.

- Light Therapy Lamp Or A Daily Dose of Sunshine ~ Lamp Set Up in my Bathroom to Have on When Getting Ready for my Day (During the Winter Months)
I am very much affected by the winter months and not having the sunlight makes a huge impact on me! In addition to my supplemental vitamin D, I also use a Light Therapy Lamp. I usually have it on while I’m getting ready for my day for about 30 minutes in the morning.
Bi-Monthly
- Chiropractic Adjustment ~ Supporting My Joint Health With Gentle Chiropractic Adjustments (Depending On Your Activity Level This Could Be Moved To Monthly)
I am constantly putting pressure through my upper body for massage work and to keep up with my joint health I get adjustments every few weeks. This could be scaled back to once a month depending on your activity level.

Monthly
- Massage or Bodywork Session ~ Yes! I Also Need Monthly Massage Therapy or Bodywork Sessions, So I Can Keep Providing Massages To My Clients!
If massage isn’t your thing – No Worries! Find something you enjoy and set aside that time monthly. It could be going to a sauna, hot springs, dry salt therapy, sound healing, visiting an ocean or lake or hiking! Take the time and give a big ‘Thanks’ to your body in any way that speaks to you!

I hope some parts of this self-care routine can be incorporated into your daily regimen!
